Matthew is a nurse practitioner with over 15 years’ experience in mental health and addiction treatment services, specialising in co-occurring mental health and substance use, complex trauma and emergency mental health. He has worked in a range of environments including emergency departments, inpatient, community mental health and teaching into university programs. Matthew has held senior positions in both the public and private sectors including executive management and senior clinical roles.

Matthew gained endorsement with AHPRA as a nurse practitioner in 2019 and is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN). Matthew is the Chair of the Greater Sydney Branch of the ACMHN and is also a member of the University Accreditation Committee, along with being a member of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners. He holds qualifications in mental health, comorbid substance use and human rights.

Matthew has training and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioural therapy and interpersonal psychotherapy. He enjoys providing person-centred and recovery oriented care for people experiencing a range of mental health conditions including mood and anxiety problems, psychotic illnesses, substance use and complex trauma.
